Sustainable engineering practice

Three sustainable engineering assessments exploring how engineering decisions change when environmental, economic and social criteria are considered together, through a beverage packaging lifecycle analysis and two regional energy studies.

Lifecycle analysis · Multi-criteria assessment · Technical reporting

Contour plots comparing energy-system costs across turbine and battery options
Economic comparison from the Coonabarabran report

Packaging lifecycle

A video comparison of a PET bottle and an aluminium can, considering the lifecycle perspective behind a material choice.

Coonabarabran energy options

Compared wind-turbine and battery combinations for a regional energy scenario. HOMER Pro results supported a multi-criteria assessment of cost, emissions and wider community impacts, with comparisons between dispatch strategies and a sensitivity study of energy pricing.
